Rising star Jordi Escobar completes deadline day Almeria move

The Valencia Mestalla centre-forward, 18 years old and 1,89 metres tall, was sought-after by several elite clubs. He puts pen to paper on a 4-year deal

Everything comes to an end so that UD Almería have just completed a new signing just minutes before the summer 2020 transfer window’s deadline. He is the eighteenth addition to the first-team, without counting Peybernes, Maras and Fran Villalba. Jordi Escobar burst onto the scene in the early stages of his professional career within Spanish football, Valencia CF Academy in particular. He is an 18-year-old player, 1,89 metres tall, who has penned a 4-year deal at Juegos Mediterraneos from Valencia B.

The Spain Under-17s and Under-18s international has already made his debut with Valencia CF's first-team. Last season, he moved up from Valencia Under-19s to Valencia Mestalla. He played 19 matches in Segunda Division B -third-tier in Spanish football- for Valencia B and 8 in the UEFA Youth League with Valencia CF.

Despite his great height, the youngster is a pacy, powerful and agile centre-forward, who has been highly sought-after by some top-flight Spanish clubs and even other European countries such as Italy.

Jordi Escobar Fernández was born on 10th February, 2002 in the town of Sant Cebriá de Villalta (Barcelona) and began his football career at FC Barcelona and Espanyol Barcelona Youth before joining Valencia CF.
