Right-back Romera handed surprise recall by José María Gutiérrez

The same players from the previous matchday have been called up again by José María Gutiérrez to the next Sunday’s game in Almendralejo

The right-back Romera was the surprise inclusion in the UD Almeria’s squad list for the game that the rojiblancos will be playing against Extremadura in the Francisco de la Hera Stadium this Sunday (8.30 p.m.) in Almendralejo. The game corresponds to matchday 24 of the SmartBank League. In fact, José María Gutiérrez, the UD Almeria first team’s head coach, have called up the same players who were included in the squad list for the previous game, in which the rojiblancos defeated Real Oviedo. 

In this sense, Juan Ibiza, Owona and Coric are still unavailable. In addition, following the January transfer window Almeria prepare Gaspar and Sekou transfer move. On the other hand, the head coach has decided not to include goalkeeper René and attacking midfielder Chema in the squad list. 

Almeria has taken part in a final behind closed doors training session. The squad will be travelling on a charter flight to Badajoz, where they will stay overnight. Once the players unpack their suitcases, they will be ready to head off by-road to Almendralejo. The expedition return on Monday morning. 

The players who have been called up by José María Gutiérrez are the following: 

Goalkeepers: Fernando (13) and Sivera (25). 

Defenders: Romera (4), Balliu (20), Maras (18), Ozornwafor (22), Iván Martos (3) and Jonathan Silva (12). 

Midfielders: Aguza (5), César de la Hoz (6), Petrovic (8), Kaptoum (14), Vada (23), Tie (16), Corpas (17) and Appiah (31). 

Forwards: Juan Muñoz (11) and Darwin Núñez (21).
