Rachad undergoes successful meniscus surgery

The 19-year-old forward has undergone surgery by Dr Claudio Vázquez at the Vithas Almería Hospital. His recovery period is approximately three months

UD Almería striker Rachad underwent successful surgery this Thursday by Dr Claudio Vázquez Colomo, traumatologist at the Vithas Almería Hospital for a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee, an injury he picked up in the last minutes of the training from last week. The surgery was carried out using advanced sports trauma techniques and was completed without complications.

'The operation has been successful and Rachad will be able to begin his recovery in a few days. We performed an arthroscopic surgery due to a torn lateral meniscus in the right knee. The approximate period of time on the treatment table is three months, depending on his progress and rehabilitation,' explained Dr Vázquez Colomo.

Rachad will begin a tailored rehabilitation programme to strengthen the joint and progressively regain mobility. Dr Vázquez and UD Almería hope for a speedy recovery so that the forward can rejoin the team and continue with his promising footballing career. The head of the Club's medical services, Dr Sebastián Jiménez, was present during the operation and accompanied the footballer in the hospital where he underwent surgery.
