The Spain U19s captain joins UD Almería after leading his country to continental glory and being named the competition's MVP
Quim Junyent, one of UD Almería's new signings for the 2026/27 campaign, will arrive at the Club as a UEFA European Under-19s champion and the tournament's Player of the Tournament (MVP) after Spain's 2-0 victory over Germany in the final.
The talented midfielder, who came through FC Barcelona's Academy, was one of Spain's standout performers throughout the competition. Wearing the captain's armband, Junyent led his side to the European title and was recognised as the tournament's outstanding player.
Following his involvement in the European Championship, Junyent will join up with the Rojiblancos later than the rest of the squad. The same applies to fellow summer signing Brian Cipenga, who has been representing the Democratic Republic of the Congo at the FIFA World Cup.
Both players have enjoyed impressive summers on the international stage, further highlighting the quality added to UD Almería's squad. They join fellow new arrivals Jorge Pulido and Álex Sola, alongside the one-year contract extension for Léo Baptistão and the permanent signings of Miguel de la Fuente and André Horta.
These are the Club's transfer movements to date ahead of the new season. As previously announced, Álex Centelles and Arnau Puigmal have departed the Club following the expiration of their contracts.
