The new UD Almería player discusses his style and introduces himself personally on UDA Radio
Cipenga has not joined UD Almería to go unnoticed. One of the Club's most high-profile signings of the summer transfer window, the Congolese international is determined to make his mark on the pitch and contribute with his style of football towards achieving the promotion objective. He explained his approach in an interview with UDA Radio, the Club's official station.
'The head coach has asked me to play with freedom, attack and express myself on the pitch and give everything when I play because if we all do that, things will go very well,' said the Congolese winger.
When describing his style, he was equally clear: 'I like to attack and do different things. Even if they don't always come off, because I like to take risks on the pitch, I'll always keep trying. When the game is over, I want people to say that I defended and attacked to the maximum.'
On that note, the new UD Almería recruit also reflected on his debut at the UD Almería Stadium: 'We have to keep getting to know each other so that we can understand each other better, both with my team-mates and the head coach. He's helping me a lot with this. I like whoever is marking me not to be relaxed and to always be alert because they know I'm going to attack them a lot and try different things.'
Cipenga is delighted and surprised by his new Club: 'On presentation day, I didn't expect so many people to be there, cheering me on and showing me so much affection. It was incredible, and that will make me feel very much at home. It'll give me a lot of strength to defend the badge and the Club on the pitch. It was a real shot of energy for me,' he explained on UDA Radio.
As for his first minutes in front of his new supporters, he was emphatic: 'It's difficult to put into words.' The Congolese international also spoke about his personal and team objectives, his team-mates and even his rapping skills.
