Álex Muñoz: 'We want to keep winning at home'
The UD Almería left-back, is confident about earning automatic promotion and insists: 'We must do our job and we believe our rivals will not take maximum points'.
With the run-in in LaLiga Hypermotion now underway, Álex Muñoz spoke on UDA Radio to analyse the upcoming clash against his former club UD Las Palmas: 'It'll be very special because I know several players there and I have fond memories of the staff, the board...We're approaching the game very focused and working to get the win against a team with a very defined style.'
Speaking about the Islanders, Muñoz added: 'They're brilliant on the ball and they love finding passes in attack. We must study them carefully to neutralise their style, but also use our own strengths to hurt them.'
UD Almería are currently on an impressive run of 8 consecutive home wins and the defender highlighted the team’s consistency: 'We've been performing well for many months now; since February the team have improved a lot and there's no reason to doubt this squad. We're at a good level to achieve 2 more wins at the UDA Stadium, but right now our mentality is to take it game by game.'
The 31-year-old left-back also spoke about the promotion race: 'We believe we must do our job regardless of our direct rivals, who I think will not win all their games. It's the final push and the dressing room is fully focused and committed to finishing these last 3 matches strongly.'
His dream of reaching the top flight remains alive: 'I came here with the aim of getting promotion to LaLiga with UD Almería. I joined for moments like this, where we don't fully depend on ourselves but still have full belief that we can achieve it.'
Finally, the San Juan d Alicante native praised the atmosphere around the Club in Almería: 'At home we're on a spectacular run, which is very difficult in the second division. We want to win the last 2 home games and continue along the same path. People on the street tell us we're going to achieve it and that excitement is contagious. Now we must keep giving 100% to repay their support with promotion.'
'We do not need to ask much from the fans because their support and passion already reach us, just keep going like this, living every moment with us to push forward,' he added.
