A league gone wild!
The top-7 sides are separated by just 5 points with 8 Matchdays to go and there are still plenty of head-to-head clashes to come. UD Almería will take on direct rivals: Racing de Santander, Málaga CF, Burgos CF and UD Las Palmas
LaLiga Hypermotion has built a reputation in recent seasons for its unpredictability, competitiveness and overall quality. But the 2025/26 campaign is taking things to another level in terms of excitement and balance. It’s absolute madness.
With 8 Matchdays left in the regular season, nothing is decided. At the top, the first 7 teams are tightly packed within a 5-point margin, with promotion and play-off spots still completely up for grabs. No team have managed to pull away decisively and those who briefly did, like Racing de Santander, have since been reeled back in.
The Cantabria outfit still lead the table with 62 points, followed closely by UD Almería with 61 points and Deportivo de La Coruña with 60. Fourth through 7th place are all level on 57 points: UD Las Palmas, CD Castellón, Málaga CF and Burgos CF. Meanwhile, SD Eibar sit 8th with 54 points and could still join the race.
With 8 fixtures to go, the level of competition could not be tighter and there are still many direct showdowns ahead. For instance, UD Almería face 4 of them: against Racing de Santander this Sunday, followed by Málaga CF and later clashes with Burgos CF and UD Las Palmas. A demanding schedule but one that could define everything. Málaga CF also have 4 direct encounters, while UD Las Palmas have three and Racing de Santander, Deportivo de La Coruña and CD Castellón each have two.
This weekend, all eyes will be on the key fixtures of Matchday 35: Málaga CF vs UD Las Palmas on Saturday at 6:30pm and the headline clash between Racing de Santander and UD Almería on Sunday at 9pm (Spanish Time).
