Football continues to be unfair to UD Almería... now Luis Suárez gets injured

The talented striker, who had grabbed a wonderful five-minute hat-trick before the break, was forced off the pitch on a stretcher in the 80th minute over a major injury

Football continues to be unfair and cruel to UD Almería, especially now with one of its best players, Luis Suárez. The Colombian striker has been looking to score goals and improving his shooting ability since the beginning of the season, putting his heart and soul in each and every game, including in the last match against Granada CF.

When he was at his electric best, misfortune arrived; a significant injury that will keep him off pitch on the treatment table for several months. On the last Matchday in Seville, the 25-year-old got off the mark by netting his first goal of the season from a penalty. He celebrated it as it seemed that he finally shook off the bad luck of not finding the back of the nets previously despite having created big chances, although he had produced assists.

This Sunday against Granada CF, Suárez grabbed a wonderful hat-trick before half-time, three great goals that seemed to put the team back on track this campaign to break their hoodoo.

Even in the second half, the Santa Marta native also continued to fashion goal-scoring opportunities, but in in the 80th minute, he was injured unfortunately. A partial fibula fracture of his left leg forced him off the pitch on a stretcher and taken to the hospital. Hopefully 2024 smiles on him.
