UD Almería Women’s teams take centre stage in the Club
From league triumphs to school visits, the Club’s girls' teams shine on and off the pitch
UD Almería’s Women’s teams are enjoying a moment of real prominence within the Club. Both on the pitch and in the community, they are drawing significant attention and recognition.
Recently, the 3 girls' teams, all part of the Club’s Foundation, were officially presented to supporters in front of more than 12,000 fans who attended Monday’s fixture between UD Almería and Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa at the Stadium. During half-time, the 3 UDA women’s teams stepped onto the pitch and received a huge ovation from the crowd.
First came the U16s outfit, followed by UD Almería Women 'B', who have just been crowned league champs and finally the UD Almería Women senior team, currently enjoying an scintillating season as they push for promotion to Segunda RFEF women's tier.
Beyond their sporting achievements, the players are also making an impact in the community by visiting schools, giving talks and answering students’ questions. Lucía, for instance, recently visited CEIP Nueva Almería school. The school’s pupils, who have created their own digital newspaper, held a large interview session with the footballer, attended by many students. The excitement and interest from the young audience were enormous.
The UD Almería women’s teams are playing an increasingly important role in the current life of the Rojiblancos' Club.
