Newbie César Montes completes first training session
The Mexican centre-back, the latest UD Almería signing, is now training under the guidelines of head coach Vicente Moreno
César Montes has worn the Rojiblancos training gear for the first time ever as he has taken part in his first training session with the UD Almería squad. The Mexican centre-back, 26 years old and 1.95 metres tall, who moves from RCD Espanyol de Barcelona has been the latest summer addition. His deal was completed shortly before the summer transfer window deadline. He landed in Almería last Sunday and this Monday, he has joined his new team-mates in training.
The Mexican international has been the highlight of the evening session held at the Power Horse Stadium at the beginning of an atypical week since there will be no competition due to the international break. As a consequence, head coach Vicente Moreno has had only 21 players in training, including Bruno Iribarne and Marezi, who have squad numbers greater than 25. Meanwhile, six first teamers are away on international duty with their home countries' teams: Mendes, Baba, Lopy, Koné, Kaiky and Lázaro.
Mr Moreno has had a talk with his footballers at the Power Horse Stadium and then newbie César Montes was welcomed by his new team-mates with a Spanish-like guard of honour. Next, the squad members got to work with full attention on ways to improve their tactical game before the league resumes.
UD Almería will face next LaLiga EA Sports rivals Villarreal CF away from home at 4:15pm (Spanish Time) on Sunday, 17th September. The squad will train in morning sessions until Friday and then, they will have the weekend off.
