This Sunday, UD Almería 'B' face a very exciting match that will see them taking on UCAM Murcia CF at 12 noon at the Francisco Pomedio stadium in the town of Huércal de Almería. The UDA prospects have to play there because the Anexo pitch is having its grass reseeded.
The Group IV top-two teams, who are level on points, will be locking horns. The Murcia-based side are the current table-toppers due to a better goal difference. UCAM Murcia CF, with a past in professional football, are serious contenders for promotion to third-tier Primera RFEF, as they are at the top of their game, while recently-promoted UD Almería 'B', who despite being a young squad, are having an outstanding season. They are on a 6-game unbeaten streak, which they want to extend with a new victory, although this is a tough-looking clash.
'We're going to face very reliable opponents who base their style of play on the security they have at the back with only 8 goals conceded. They don't make things easy, they're extremely difficult to beat and they're experienced players,' said head coach Alberto Lasarte to UDA Radio, the Club's official radio station in the pre-match press conference.
For the gaffer, seeing himself at the top and fighting for the top spot against strong opponents like UCAM 'is super exciting.' Mr Lasarte and many of his players return to Huércal de Almería, where not long ago the before UD Almería Under-19s 'A' youngster who were Spanish Cup runners-up. 'This pitch brings back very good memories,' stressed Alberto, although the change of grass, being artificial, can be a handicap.
The UD Almería 'B' head coach called on the fans to come and cheer on the Indálicos. Season-ticket holders have free access with their season cards, while for the rest of the tickets the price is €10.
