Preparations with full focus on getting back in the win column
UD Almería are training at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium determined to turn things around in Oviedo.
UD Almería are back in training after last Monday’s home defeat to SD Eibar with the firm intention of getting back in the win column. Rubi’s team are still into automatic promotion spots sitting second level on points with current leaders, the Eibarreses. It has been 4 consecutive Matchdays without achieving a victory in the league since the start of 2022, with a balance of 3 games lost -two at home- and one draw. This circumstance has meant that the Rojiblancos no longer have that comfortable advantage as the top of the table side, but as the head coach said during the post-Eibar presser ‘no one gives up here; we’re at the top in the standings and still engaged in the fight for promotion to the top tier.’
The squad should be calm because as it has been shown, they have not forgotten how to play football although they might have lost some consistency in the areas. When it comes down to attacking, they continue to create big chances but there is a lack pinpoint precision at goal. The downsides are the absentee list that seems to be easing now and a weakened defence. Therefore, hard work, a boost of confidence and a full recovery of those footballers who have been out of action will definitely lead to better results.
UD Almeria will try one more time to get back to winning ways against tough rivals Real Oviedo and that is why they have started the work out this Tuesday. The starters against SD Eibar focused on active recovery while the others exercised a bit harder. This Wednesday, a new football practice is taking place on the Anexo training ground, where they will get back together this Thursday, this time behind closed doors. The last training session to be held at the Juegos Mediterraneos is taking place on Friday evening.
