Pozo agrees to fresh terms with UD Almeria

The 23-year-old right-back has put pen to paper on a 5-year deal with the Rojiblancos. UD Almeria’s retained list takes shape

Alejandro Pozo, another of the key players in the promotion to the LaLiga Santander, will remain at UD Almería as a Rojiblanco since UD Almeria have activated the option-to-buy clause on the Sevillian footballer. The agreement with the player has been closed with a 5-year contract up until the 2026/27 season.

Pozo checked in at UD Almería last summer on loan from Sevilla FC, with an option-to-buy clause in the event of promotion to the top flight that has now become effective. The player's performance has been absolutely outstanding. He is the third player in the squad who has played the most minutes.

The 23-year-old defender of reliable presence was lined up 39 times in the second tier, scoring 3 goals and producing 4 lovely assists. In addition, Pozo also played a Copa del Rey match against Elche CF. The Huevar del Aljarafe native has put in brilliant performances game after game. He is also a versatile player since he can operate both as a right-winger and as an attacking midfielder.

UD Almería continue to build up the squad that will play in the top-tier LaLiga Santander next season to compile their retained list. After the first contract renewals of left-back Centelles and central defender Rodrigo Ely, the Club has now triggered options to extend the deals with centre-back Srđan Babić and Alejandro Pozo.
