Positive match week for UD Almeria Academy players

U-19 Almeria (Juvenil A) tied against the mighty Málaga and the rest of the Academy teams that were competing came off with a victory

The UD Almería Academy had a brilliant match week finishing the weekend with positive results. Regardless of the triumph of Almeria B over Vélez CF (3-1), the teams that make up the red and white academy managed to defeat other opponents apart from the meritorious draw achieved by U-19 Almeria (Juvenile A), who host a potential team to become top leaders in the table, Malaga CF. It should be mentioned that three teams – U-19 Almeria (Juvenil B), U-16 Almeria (Cadet A) and U-14 Almeria (Infantil A) - did not have to face any games.

The team that plays in the ‘Honor Juvenil Division’ took part in a demanding encounter, since their rivals were focused on winning so as to win the tournament as they are currently runners-up. Although there was nothing at stake for the Almeria young players, Miguel Compán’s boys showed professionalism and did their best to make sure their fans and supporters enjoyed the game at all times. In this sense, UD Almeria were too close to pull off a victory, since after 89 minutes, they were on the lead winning 2-0. However, Malaga CF staged a stunning comeback to draw 2-2 with Almeria scoring the unexpected second goal in injury time.

U-16 B (Cadet B) moved heaven and earth to edge out Villa de Albox 2-3 at home. On the other hand, U-14 Almeria (Infantil B) welcomed CD Vera in the only match of this age category (Infantil A had no competition). The Rojiblancos were reigning superior and the teenagers earned the three points thanks to the goals of Carlos and Andrés.

U-12 Almeria (Alevines) achieved the biggest victory last weekend. In the Andalusian Second Division, the U-12 Almería thrashed La Mojonera away from home 0-8. It should be highlighted the brace scored by Mellado and the goals of Hugo, dos Santos, Iniesta, Álex, Gonzalo and Santi. Similarly, although with a more balanced game, ‘Ciudad de Roquetas’ took a severe 5-2 drubbing at the hands of Almeria U-12 Almeria (Alevín B)
