Marko Perović earns first senior call-up to Montenegro squad
The UD Almería winger to miss Real Zaragoza clash after joining his national team for World Cup Qualifiers 2026
UD Almería winger Marko Perović has received his first senior call-up to the Montenegro national team for two World Cup qualifiers for 2026. The 19-year-old will depart after next Saturday’s match in La Coruña, meaning he will miss the home fixture against Real Zaragoza on 11 October.
The international window, which begins with Perović’s absence, poses a challenge for UD Almería as LaLiga Hypermotion continues. Montenegro has become one of the first teams to announce their squad, prompting the Andalusian Club to monitor potential call-ups for other UD Almería players.
Perović, who joined UD Almería last season to play for the 'B' team, has impressed head coach Rubi with his versatility. Known for his pace and technical ability, Perović has featured predominantly as a left-winger but has also been deployed as a wing-back due to his well-rounded skill set.
