Pepe Mel: "We wear UD Almería's crest on our chests… there are many reasons to compete for"

The UD Almería head coach regretted the hard defeat with self-criticism: 'I haven't been able to connect the starting XI players. It's my fault.'

'I've done something very wrong, because we were trailing 0-2 in 10 minutes. I haven't been able to connect the players. When you lose a game in the 8th minute, it becomes difficult for you. I repeat, it's not the players' fault, it's mine,' said UD Almería head coach Pepe Mel after the match played against CA Osasuna during the post-match press conference.

The Rojiblancos' gaffer assured with determination: 'This is the Primera Division, we have very tough games ahead of us, we have to keep working, held our heads high…' and stressed: 'You see the goof players after a defeat and I repeat, I'd like to save the players.'

UD Almería, at the end of the first half, were losing 0-2 and with few chances created. This is why Pepe Mel told his players: 'We had 50 minutes left and we had to shiw another version of ourselves. The staging of the second period has been different.'

To conclude his post-match assessment with the media, the Madrid native head coach highlighted: 'We have 8 games left. We wear the UD Almería's crest on our chest… there are many reasons to compete for.'
