Pedro López appointed UD Almería Women first-team head coach

The former UD Almería Women U16 gaffer has extensive experience within the Club and has inspired Academy girls youth teams to several successes

Pedro López, who until now was in the driving seat of UD Almería Women U16s, had just been appointed new head coach of UD Almería Women first team for the start of the 2023/24 season in the Primera Division Nacional tier. He is a talented in-house coach who has been responsible for numerous sport successes as well as the development of homegrown players during their stage at grassroot level. In addition, he has extensive experience in women's football in general.

The new gaffer takes on the challenge of staging a great campaign so that the Rojiblancas once again occupy the positions in the top half of the table, which would allow them to move up a tier, Segunda RFEF.

Pedro arrived at UD Almería with the creation of the women teams working as an analyst. Subsequently, he has done his bit within the girls under-14s and under-16s, a youth squad that he has coached during the last four campaigns, not only celebrating a promotion but also gaining a foothold in the regional tier.

Moreover, Pedro López knows perfectly many of the current senior team players because, in addition to having followed all their matches from the stands, he has trained many of them since they were part of the under-16s. Apart from his years spent in the Andalusian Club, his career has been linked to women's football in general, since he took to the dugout for the first time in the women's University of Almería futsal outfit and has also trained players in Estudiantes de Almería, as well as Benahadux.

With the arrival of newly appointed head coach Pedro López in the driving seat of UD Almería Women, the first step of the UDA Foundation project with regard to the women's team has been taken ahead of the 2023/24 season.
