UD Almería turn their attention to the league opener against CD Eldense as pre-season comes to an end, with the first points up for grabs in 7 days
The wait is almost over. The start of the competition is just around the corner, with all LaLiga Hypermotion teams set to embark on their own 42-match marathon this weekend. Only 4 clubs, including UD Almería, will have an extra day to prepare, as they will begin their campaigns on Monday. Nevertheless, this is the first week of the season in full match-preview mode.
Following their return from the training camp in Marbella and with their final free weekend until June 2027 behind them, the squad returned to the Anexo ground on Monday with their focus firmly on the first test of the season: CD Eldense.
The significance of the 3 points at stake on Monday at 9:30pm at the UDA Stadium completely changes the picture. Every training session will therefore be crucial as the team prepare to get off to a winning start in the league. As head coach García Pimienta says: 'Every match will be the most important.”
The coaching staff once again designed a ball-focused training session on Monday, with a variety of drills taking place at the Anexo base. Small-sided exercises aimed at encouraging movement, drills focused on breaking the lines and constant instructions to help the players find one another were all part of the session.
In the playing model being implemented by García Pimienta, the connection and combination play between the team's most creative players is just as important as the solidity of the team when out of possession.
The Rojiblancos will return to the training pitch on Tuesday morning, with the session set to focus on more specific tactics regarding their first league opponents.
