Baba: 'This energy and adrenaline are here to stay'
The UD Almería midfielder shares the keys to the team's bouncebackability on UDA Radio. 'This victory is going to push us very hard,' the Ghanaian stated
'Football is, above all, a state of mind,' Argentinian former football player, coach, and Real Madrid CF former general manager Jorge Valdano said one day. And on that note, what happened inside the UD Almería dressing room after beating Burgos CF 2-0 at home is rather relevant, as confessed by Iddrisu Baba on UDA Radio: 'Arnau began to sing me a song that is many years old... 'La Bamba', with my name. Then, we all sang it along because it was to congratulate the team and the fans because it wasn't easy to win with one less player. I want to congratulate them because they deserve it.'
'These three points are going to push us and will remain as a reference to move forward in the next games,' the Ghanaian midfielder added. Baba also acknowledged: 'I don't know where that energy came from but it was fantastic to see that solid team and united and I'm sure this is here to stay. It was a constant adrenaline rush from everyone. Even those who came on in the last minutes gave their all!,' he emphasised.
'I noticed it from the warm-up, how the stands supported us and how they showed us their backing from the first minute to the last. I'm very grateful to them,' Baba stated.
The 28-year-old footballer points out something fundamental: 'You also have to enjoy without the ball because there are days when you're not going to be fluid with the ball. In the last game, we did it perfectly. We had to give everything and that's how it was. I reckon it's like the end of something and from there, we're sure to do better.'
