UD Almería face demanding run after extended break
Long week followed by 3 games in 7 days as promotion race intensifies in LaLiga Hypermotion
UD Almería are navigating an unusually uneven fixture schedule, alternating between long gaps and congested periods. After opening Matchday 31 away to SD Huesca, UD Almería will have a 9-day break before hosting Real Sociedad 'B' on 29 March (Palm Sunday), closing Matchday 32.
That extended rest will quickly give way to an intense run of 3 matches in just 7 days. Following the game against the Basque side, UD Almería will travel to face CD Castellón on 2 April (Maundy Thursday), before returning home on 5 April (Easter Sunday) to take on CD Leganés.
It promises to be a decisive and demanding spell in the closing stages of the campaign. Beyond that week, further crucial fixtures await against direct promotion rivals such as Racing de Santander and Málaga CF, as well as CD Castellón, all of whom are competing for a place in the top tier.
Next up is a dangerous Real Sociedad 'B' side, who have already proven their strength on the road this season with wins in La Coruña, Andorra, Cádiz and Córdoba. They also caused problems for UD Almería earlier in the campaign.
The squad return from Huesca this Saturday and will immediately undergo an active recovery session. Sunday has been scheduled as a day off with training resuming on Monday and Tuesday. After another rest day on Wednesday, preparations will intensify from Thursday onwards ahead of the visit of Real Sociedad 'B'.
With the promotion race heating up, UD Almería are entering a defining period of the season.
