Osasuna drawn away to Almeria in the Spanish Copa del Rey last-16

The knockout stage will be played as a single-leg tie either on 26/27/28 January at Juegos Mediterráneos

Top-flight Club Atlético Osasuna, from Pamplona city, has been drawn away to UD Almería's in the Spanish Copa del Rey last-16 after the draw that took place at the RFEF headquarters. The single-leg tie will be played next week on either 26/27/28 January at the Juegos Mediterráneos Stadium.

UD Almería and CA Osasuna will be locking horns again after three seasons, when they last met in the Segunda Division. It was in the 2018/19 campaign, when the Navarra-based side were promoted to the top flight. The team led by Jagoba Arrasate sit second-to-last in LaLiga relegation spot, 2 points away from the rescue zone occupied by Deportivo Alavés, the Rojiblancos' last competitors in the previous Spanish Cup third-round.

CA Osasuna knocked RCD Espanyol de Barcelona out of the cup tournament with a 0-2 win. Before that, they progressed from the second round thanks to a dispatching Segunda Division ‘B’ Unió Esportiva Olot with a comprehensive 0-3 victory. Jagoba Arrasate’s men turned on the style to beat Sevillian UD Tomares 0-6 sealing passage from the first round. 

Ex-Rojiblanco keeper Rubén Iván Martínez now belongs to the Osasuna squad.
