One-game ban for Darwin Núñez, Jonathan Silva and Fernando

The three players will serve one-match suspension against Malaga and will be available for the play-offs

The competition committee of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has sanctioned the three UD Almeria players Darwin Núñez, Jonathan Silva and Fernando, who were sent off during the away match against Ponferradina with one-game ban. All three will miss Monday's fixture against Málaga CF, yet they will be available for the start of the play-off competition for promotion to the top-flight.

The referee wrote down on the score sheet that both Darwin Núñez and Jonathan Silvan were sent off the pitch for a head-butt and a slap, respectively, during the brawl that broke out at the end of the encounter. The club sent the competition committee some allegations along with a video, and has managed to make the actions of the Rojiblancos be considered not aggression but unsportsmanlike conduct. In fact, there was a lot of confusion and even the referee acknowledges that he was unable to show them the red card. On top of that, the ref pointed out that he did not see if the actions he explains came to impact the rival players.

As for goalkeeper Fernando, he was sent off for complaining while in the stands. He did not come out onto the pitch as a precaution due to the muscle injury he suffered in the game against Rayo Vallecano.
