Rubi: 'I'm not leaving more pessimistic or more worried'
The UD Almería head coach admits that his team have many aspects to improve, but at the same time, he trusts that the team dynamic will change and UD Almería will be at the top, although 'there are people who don't think that way'
UD Almería head coach Rubi shared his post-Oviedo thoughts in the Carlos Tartiere press room admitting that his team had not performed up to standard and indicating that the season is long and many positive things will happen as well. 'We've got a lot to improve in the first minutes of the game, coming out with more personality. We must give the recognition that Real Oviedo deserve; They had a good start to the game, playing twenty extraordinary minutes and they bossed. It was an evenly-matched game after Luis Suárez's goal. We started the second half well, but we made a pretty serious mistake with the sending-off and then the team fought and did what they could,' said the Indálicos' gaffer.
The Catalan head coach talked about the lack of effectiveness and recognised that the duties of the match do not only have to do with the defensive aspect: 'You adjust things, but then you need to correct again and stick to something. We're trying to get a different team, but it's clear that if you work on certain aspects and the first shot on goal is a goal, it doesn't matter what team you play with. Once again, we must be more effective in some situations.' On that note, he added: 'I don't think it was just the defensive factor, we did not well in the built-up play. We lacked personality to find the final pass and the player who was free.'
The man from Vilassar de Mar continues to trust that the Rojiblancos will be in the top positions in the table despite the fact that the results, for the time being, are not going well: 'I'm not leaving more pessimistic or more worried, many things are going to happen. Things between now and the end of the season and our team is going to celebrate back-to-back victories; It'll take a little longer, but we're going to get closer to those above us. I have no doubt, although I can understand why people don't think that way.'
Furthermore, Rubi commented that it is not normal for so many negative things to happen to the team in such a short period of time. 'All this has to change,' he concluded.
