Melero: We haven't been involved in the game at any time

The UD Almeria co-captain and central midfielder, is self-critical and urges the team to focus squarely on Granada FC to be able to offer a victory to their fans, who are to death with them

UD Almeria central midfielder Gonzalo Melero, who wore the captain's team armband against Seville FC, shared his thoughts after the game and did not hesitate to state: 'We weren't involved 100% in the game at any time,' and then added: 'We left the dressing room with some plans and after 8 minutes, we were trailing 2-0 and everything has gone to downhill. They've scored very simple goals against us, we haven't been powerful, we've lost balls, including myself, and we haven't competed properly.'

The Rojiblanco continued to be self-critical and stressed: 'Against rivals like Sevilla FC and in a stadium like the Sánchez Pizjuán, defensive work is key, and especially in the first half it's been non-existent.'

On the other hand, the Madrid-born player pointed out: 'We came from having good vibes, from competing fiercely in all the previous games, from deserving better results, but today isn't the way to go.'

Gonzalo Melero urged the team to focus squarely on Granada CF, correcting their mistakes and fighting to their strengths for a victory 'it's about time we can offer a win to the fans, who are with us to the death.' The midfielder described Sunday's coming event at the Power Horse Stadium as 'vital' towards their aspirations.
