Rubi: 'The SD Eibar match is the most difficult this week'
The head coach talks about the demanding match at the Ipurua stadium, but at the same time points out: 'The way to end a poor run of results is by achieving an epic victory.' He is confident that his team will keep the form of the last two matches
'There is no more difficult match on this Matchday than the one against SD Eibar,' was the blunt statement made by UD Almería head coach Rubi stated at the press conference ahead of this Friday's testing trip at the Ipurua stadium. He argued that the stadium is one of the most complicated in the second tier and on top of they are in fine form at the moment after the change in the driving seat as demonstrated by having finished with victories in their last two league outings. Rubi explained: 'SD Eibar are always a very intense team that putnpressure on you and play to the limit in 1v1 duels, apart from playing more or less creative football. There, either you come out with your batteries charged or you have a bad time. Traditionally it's very difficult to get points from Ipurua.'
The Catalan then added about the Armero team: 'Before, with the previous head coach, they did very interesting things, although they lacked good luck in finishing the games. Now, with the new gaffer, this team dynamic has changed and they have scored 4 goals to add 6 points, managing very well the records of playing in a more elaborate or direct way. Many of his players have awakened in terms of confidence.'
Rubi trusts his team, since as he stated: 'They're eager to get out of there,' apart from the fact that 'in the matches we've been stronger and I hope we continue with this team dynamic. For the head coach of the UD Almería team 'anything that isn't being one game away from the top two ranked makes us uncomfortable because we want to fight for those places.'
After 7 consecutive winless games, UD Almería are forced to react now because they're out of the play-offs. Its head coach pointed out: 'The way to end a poor run of results is with an epic victory,' and SD Éibar, for all that has been said, would be the ideal place.
By the way, when Rubi promoted SD Huesca to the top flight, the team were 8 games without winning: 'I have a bit of optimism because of this experience, although to get out of this situation we must not lower the level of work and sacrifice at any time, and we must make the right decisions.'
