Rubi: 'No one from the top of the table has won in Albacete'
The UD Almería head coach warns that Sunday's fixture at the Carlos Belmonte stadium will be 'very difficult and highly competitive.' He wants his team to keep up the defensive strength that has clearly improved thanks to everyone's total commitment.'
'No one from the top of the table has won in Albacete, which gives an idea of how difficult the match is going to be,' stressed UD Almería head coach Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia 'Rubi' as he previewed Sunday's fixture against Albacete Balompié at the Carlos Belmonte Stadium. The head coach warns that the match will be 'very difficult and highly competitive.' He recalled the encounter of the first half of the season against them: 'Albacete have been the team that have created the most chances against us. It was for 15 or 20 minutes of the first half, which reflects their enormous potential. It's always important that things happen because as a result we started to change and correct things.'
In order to succeed in this new league meeting in La Mancha, the Catalan gaffer said: 'We must keep up the defensive strength that we're having and the attacking power,' because as he recognised 'even if we play better or worse, we're always going to have chances to score.'
UD Almería are enjoying a 14-game unbeaten streak in which they have conceded 6 goals in the last 10 games. Alba conceded 9 goals and in the second half of the season, they kept a clean sheet. 'On the defensive side we've had a spectacular improvement thanks to everyone's commitment. We knew that the moment we fixed this issue a little, the team would go up, as they have shown,' he indicated.
The Vilassar de Mar native stressed: 'But we're always on alert because it's enough to talk about this for us to have a point of relaxation and everything changes.'
Rubi thanked, once again, the support of the fans, who will turn up in numbers in Albacete. He described the future Sports Complex that will be presented shortly as 'wonderful facilities”,' and announced that 'Marezi is available' and Robertone feels 'perfect' to be able to play on a Matchday in which Luis Suárez returns after serving a one-match ban.
