Morale is fairly high and mind set in the next match against Huesca

UD Almeria have managed to bag ten points in the last six fixtures of the second-round of the championship, six points less in comparison with the first-round last year

Even though Almeria have won 10 points this year until now, there are only three teams above the rojiblancos: Dépor (18 points), Tenerife (13 points) and Real Zaragoza (11 points). That is to say, only the Maños out of the direct rivals occupying high positions in the standings, are above the Indalicos with one more point. The leaders Cádiz have bagged one less point than UD Almeria and SD Huesca – our next opponents- who got two less points.

Regarding the rest of the teams that are in the positions for play-offs, we can see that Girona are even on points -ten points in the second-round - and Elche have added one less than Almeria, the same situation as the leaders, Cádiz. Fuenlabrada (4 points) and CD Numancia (5 points) have also won less points than the Almeriensistas, being on the verge of climbing into the play-off positions.

In fact, the best records are from two teams that started the second part of the championship in relegation places: Dépor (18 points) and CD Tenerife (13 points). That is why Almeria are very bullish about the side’s future. UD Almeria occupied positions of automatic promotion spots in 20 of the 27 match weeks. The team have not gone down from the fourth place yet and even have led the SmartBank League four times.

Every cloud has a silver lining; it is clear that the team not only have to improve their game but also be proud of the results obtained. The rojiblancos are pulling their socks up ahead of the next match against SD Huesca and this Tuesday their training session took place behind closed doors at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium.
