Mohamed El Assy encourages fans to continue planning initiatives to support UD Almeria

The Club Director General stresses ‘We’re really proud that a multinational of the importance of Power Horse wants to bet on us’

UD Almeria Director General Mohamed El Assy had an informal meeting with the media, after signing the agreement with the University of Almeria (UAL) was over, and addressed various issues related to the Club’s latest news.

When asked about what happened last Sunday during the welcome organised by the fans to the team upon arrival at the Stadium, he replied ‘it’s an issue that wasn’t under our control. It was the Police who made that decision and we can only abide by it.’ Then he added ‘we don't want our fans to feel discouraged; On the contrary, we’d like them to continue planning initiatives to support the team. We feel that support and I encourage you to continue like this. One of our goals is for them to be happy.’

On that note, the UDA CEO announced that he will arrange meetings to find the best solution to this issue and that the supporters can welcome the players' coach at the Stadium without any problems.

Mohamed El Assy was also questioned about the relationship with the Almeria Sports Board after the controversy that arose with regard to the Anexo training ground and he stated ‘we have no problem with the Sports Board; relationships are very good. At one point, there were some problems with the activities schedule, but nothing more.’

The UD Almeria Director General also spoke of the possibility of renaming the Stadium by adding the brand Power Horse to the Juegos Mediterraneos: ‘Nothing is closed; We’re working on it. We’re really proud that such an important isotonic drinks multinational brand wants to bet on us. If the name is changed, it’d not be for now, but for the next two seasons.’
