Miguel de la Fuente: scores for the third consecutive Matchday

The former CD Leganés striker scored twice against his former club, having previously netted the match-winners against Burgos CF and RCD Mallorca. He also scored against Cádiz CF

Miguel de la Fuente continues to deliver outstanding performances for UD Almería, impressing with his tireless work rate and now making his mark in front of goal, having scored in 3 consecutive Matchdays.

Against his former club, CD Leganés, the Tudela de Duero (Valladolid) native came off the bench to score twice in the second half, putting UD Almería firmly in control of the game. Against Burgos CF, he scored the match-winning goal after Brian Cipenga had equalised, while a week earlier he netted the opening goal in Mallorca to secure 3 precious points. Earlier in the campaign, he had also scored against Cádiz CF on Matchday 4. His tally now stands at 5 goals in 9 LaLiga Hypermotion appearances.

The UD Almería striker could not hide his delight, although he chose not to celebrate his goals out of respect for his former club. As he explained: 'I have a lot of respect for Lega and their supporters.' Speaking to UDA Radio, he added: 'I'm really happy to have scored twice and helped the team win.'

De la Fuente came on at half-time and found the net with virtually his first two contributions to the game. 'I received 2 incredible assists and I couldn't miss those chances... Hopefully, I can keep this going,' he explained.

The 27-year-old forward also praised his team's progress: 'We're competing really well and managing many different aspects of the game very effectively. But we must never take our foot off the gas. We need to maintain this level and even improve on it.'
