Messi at the Power Horse Stadium!

Luka Romero, who has been compared to the Argentinian top-class footballer, shone in his UD Almería debut as a starter as he scored two thunderbolts to inspire a 2-2 draw with Atlético de Madrid

Luka Romero made his UD Almería debut as a starter in last Saturday's match against Atlético de Madrid. He shone in the match after scoring two well-struck shots that inspired a 2-2 draw with the Colchoneros. The Rojiblancos came from behind twice to snatch a point and pull off the third consecutive tie in the league. Furthermore, he was always very active creating dangerous situations and was chosen the match MVP.

When the Argentinian was subbed in the 67th minute due to calf discomfort, the fans chanted his name and gave him a standing ovation.. no wonder. The 19-year-old took centre stage since his outstanding performance captured the media's attention.

Luka Romero has been compared to Messi in his beginnings for having similar characteristics on a physical level, in his style of play. He is also a left-booted player, with good dribbling skills, pacy and a great eye fir goal as he showed against Atlético de Madrid.

When the game ended and Luka greeted the Colchoneros, the opponents congratulated him, as did his UD Almería team-mates.

The young player was the second signing made in the January transfer window, but it was not until now that he made his debut in the starting XI. Head coach Gaizka Garitano announced in the pre-match press conference: 'You'll see tomorrow,' he said when asked about the Argentinian's absences in recent days. He needed greater adaptation, a game system and an ideal match to showcase its qualities and so it was.

Luka Romero did not play against Granada CF and Athletic Club de Bilbao; he took to the pitch in the minute 60 in Valencia and against Deportivo Alavés, at home, Mr Garitano made him debut inside 78 minutes.
