Mendes, Marciano and Baba fly back to Almería

Their national teams -Guinea-Bissau and Ghana- have not made it past the group stage of the African Cup of Nations as they two squads have been knocked out of the tournament that is taking place in Ivory Coast

UD Almería players MendesMarciano and Baba are returning to Almeria city in the next few hours after their national teams, Guinea-Bissau and Ghana have been eliminated in the group stage of the African Cup of Nations that is taking place in Ivory Coast. The federations have to release their footballers and the three Rojiblancos are going to be training with UD Almeria very soon.

Guinea-Bissau has lost all its matches in the AFCON so the squad had no more chances to progress into the next round, while Ghana has had to wait until the last minute to see if a lucky chance would qualify them for the play-offs, but that was not the case.

Ghana were almost assured of passage in last Monday's match against Mozambique, whom they beat 0-2, yet in added time, they tied and everything got complicated for them.

The three UD Almería players clicked up march minutes on the last Matchday. Mendes played the full 90 minutes, Marciano featured for 45 minutes and Baba did so 53 minutes.
