Mendes, 5th player to leave on loan, moves to CD Mirandés

The right-back, who has recently been competing in the African Cup of Nations with Guinea-Bissau, will play in second-tier LaLiga Hipermotion until the end of this season. Marciano, Šviderský, Arnau Puigmal and Kaiky, in addition to the transfer of Akieme Mendes, have also been loaned out

The UD Almería right-back will play on loan at second-tier LaLiga Hipermotion side CD Mirandés until the end of this season after the agreement reached by both clubs and the footballer. He is the fifth player to be shipped out following the departures of Arnau Puigmal (Elche CF), Marciano (AD Alcorcón), Šviderský (Real Murcia) and Kaiky (Albacete Balompié), without forgetting the transfer of Sergio Akieme to the French Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims. In total 6 transfers arranged on the deadline day of the January transfer window.

Houboulang Mendes was completing his second campaign at UD Almería after signing a four-year deal last season until June 2026. The French footballer, although he also has the Guinea-Bissau nationality, he featured in 14 league games last season. In the current one, he had been lined 9 times, 2 in the Spanish Cup and 7 in the Primera Division. The fact that having three right-backs within the UD Almería squad, has led the Club to make the decision to transfer him to CD Mirándés.

Mendes had just rejoined his team-mates in training after having participated in the African Cup of Nations with Guinea-Bissau.

UD Almería wish him the best of luck in his new team from the Spanish region of Castilla y León and truly appreciate his professionalism and total commitment.
