Melero and Robertone forced off the pitch injured

The Argentinian midfielder also was shown his fifth yellow card of the season and will have to serve a one-game ban on Wednesday at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona

Injuries and suspensions are piling up at UD Almería since two of its players were forced out of the pitch with injuries picked up against RCD Mallorca. Lucas Robertone endured the final minutes of the first half with discomfort to be substituted by Baba for the remainder of the encounter at the Power Horse Stadium. The Argentinian midfielder suffered a blow to the shoulder, but also, in another play, he also injured the adductor of his right leg. Gaizka Garitano stated in the post-match press conference that it could be an adductor strain.

Furthermore, Robertone was awarded his fifth yellow card of the season and will therefore have to serve a one-game ban on Wednesday at the Lluís Company Olympic Stadium in Barcelona.

Another injured player is Gonzalo Melero. He had been suffering from a soleus muscle issue and after being ruled out against Atlético de Madrid last weekend, he rejoined the group in training late this week. Mr Garitano named him in the team roster against RCD Mallorca and the gaffer decided to bring him on for Lopy at half-time. The Madrid-born midfielder played through the pain and had to be substituted in the 84th minute.

The two footballers are going to have a difficult time getting to the match against FC Barcelona in trim. Luis Suárez, Koné, Marezi and Marc Pubill will also be missing out on the involvement in the match against the Azulgranas.
