De la Fuente: ‘I’m proud to contribute to the team and help achieve our objective’

Miguel de la Fuente was once again one of the standout performers for UD Almería. The striker spoke to the media after the match against CD Mirandés, stating: ‘I already said in my presentation that I came here to contribute to the team and help achieve our objective. I’m proud to be doing that and for it to be recognised.’
Regarding the match itself, De la Fuente explained: 'From now on, every game will be very difficult because there’s a lot at stake, both at the top and the bottom of the table, as we saw today. We managed it well and secured all 3 points, achieving our 8th consecutive home win.’
De la Fuente also thanked the UD Almería fans and their string support: ‘We really value their backing and we need it. The supporters are our 12th Man, they’re part of the team.’
The UD Almería forward, who joined during the January transfer window, added: ‘I needed a change. Both my family and I are delighted to be in Almería. It’s a fantastic city and from a sporting perspective, the confidence the Club has shown in me is very important. I try to repay that on the pitch.’
Next Saturday brings another ‘final’ in Burgos. Looking ahead to the fixture, he said: ‘I’ve played a lot at El Plantío Stadium and it’s a very tough ground, but we’re going there to win.’
