Leonardo Lelo was also presented to the media by UD Almería CEO Mohamed El Assy and when asked to describe his playing style, he explained: 'I'm an attacking full-back, but I also know how to defend. My strengths are more focused on attacking and I see myself as an intelligent player who can help my team-mates in the final third. I have the assists and numbers to show that I can make a contribution in that area.'

The 26-year-old is fully determined to compete for major honours after arriving from one of Europe's leading clubs: 'I'm joining a big Club who is fighting for big things and I like competing for these kinds of ambitious objectives. This is an attacking team and I really identify with that, which is why I decided to join UD Almería. I truly hope we can all have a great season together,' said the Portuguese defender.

The new left-back will compete with Álex Muñoz for a starting place and spoke about his new team-mate: 'Álex is a great player and played practically every game last season. We're competing for the same position, but we'll be team-mates, colleagues and friends and we'll do everything we can to help UD Almería, which is the only thing that matters. My objective is to produce my best form and be available for the weekend and then it'll be up to the head coach to decide.'

Finally, the Olhão native spoke about his dream of representing his home country: 'It's my biggest dream to represent Portugal. I was close last season, but in the end it didn't happen and that's part of football. If I want to play for Portugal, I must play regularly and at UD Almería I have the opportunity to make that dream come true.'
