Marcos Peña named in Spain U19 squad list

The national youth team have a team get-together scheduled 6-9 May in the Alicante town of Alfaz del Pi, where the central midfielder and his team-mates will also play a friendly against Saudi Arabia

UD Almería 'B' central midfielder Marcos Peña has received outstanding recognition when he was selected to be part of the final Spain Under-19s squad list. The budding player from the UD Almería Academy will have the golden opportunity to join up with the national youth team in Alfaz del Pi (Alicante) 6-9 May to prepare for the exciting friendly against Saudi Arabia.

His call-up to the Spanish team is a clear reflection of the outstanding performance he has shown on the pitch, standing out as one of the young talents to take into account on the Spanish football scene. His game awareness and his technique have made him a UD Almería player with a bright future ahead. 

The 19-year-old youngster stated on UDA Radio: 'I've had a dream start to the year, what a kid who plays football wants, but it's true that this is thanks to hard work and perseverance.' In addition, he highlighted: 'For me, it's fulfilling another dream, wearing the shirt of your home country's team. I'm proud of myself.'

To conclude his interview, Marcos emphasised: 'These training sessions will help them get an idea of ​​what they want to take with them to the European Championship, hopefully then I'll be lucky enough to be able to play in the championship.'

His presence with Spain U19 is not only a personal achievement for Marcos Peña, but also a source of pride for his Club and all the UD Almería fans.
