UD Almería secure Luna in latest signing deal

The newest recruit is a long-term right-back with the potential to play on the left wing. Signs for 5 seasons following the agreement between UD Almería and Real Zaragoza

Marcos Luna, who was born on 5 April 2022 becomes the 4th summer signing made by UD Almería following the transfer agreement between Real Zaragoza and the Andalusian Club'. The right-footed defender signs until 2030.

Luna is a player whose natural position is right-back, but whose technical and physical characteristics have also led him to develop as a winger. Last season, he made 38 appearances for Real Zaragoza in the LaLiga Hypermotion and Spanish Cup, scoring 2 goals and assisting 2 more.

His qualities allow him to be a capable wide player with a good right foot to deliver dangerous crosses, making him very effective in attack. He produced 5 assists during the 2023/24 season, during which he played on loan at Real Unión.

Luna has spent his entire footballing career playing for various Real Zaragoza youth sides; interestingly, he was handed his first-team debut by Juan Carlos Carcedo, who was the UD Almería manager during Unai Emery's era. He established himself in the Spanish league last season.

Other highlights include his intelligence in positioning himself properly and his tactical rigor in defensive positioning. Marcos Luna also has experience playing on the opposite side of his dominant foot as a left back.

UD Almería continue to build on the squad next season, as Luna is the 4th signing in the summer transfer window and 3 of these are defensive line players—Álex Muñoz, Chirino, and Luna—aside from the arrival of Soko in the forward line.
