Marc Pubill: "The game against Villarreal CF sums up what has happened to us all season"

The UD Almería right-back highlights that last Sunday's meeting 'was one of the best that the team has played, but he clarified: 'It's difficult for us to score goals and avoid conceding.'

'Last Sunday's game against Villarreal CF sums up what has happened to us throughout the season,' stated UD Almería right-back Marc Pubill on UDA Radio, the Club's official radio station. The Spain Under-21 international also said: 'We were very good, although we failed in some details such as in the areas, where it's difficult for us to score goals and avoid conceding.'

The 20-year-old player stressed: 'I don't know if we had 16 or 17 chances, some of them very clear that we didn't convert. This kills us because then the opponents don't reach our box often and they score easily.'

On Saturday, a new home match beckons, now against Getafe CF: 'It's a tough team very well organised on the pitch and it's difficult to create dangerous situations against them. We will need a lot of patience and we'll prepare it well during the week to try, again, fight for the first victory at home.' The positive attitude will be key, he pointed out.

'There are already a lot of games in which we deserved more, but the details have killed us during the season. You have the feeling of be superior to the opponents and in the end, the usual reverses happen.' He even revealed that Villarreal CF footballer Morales told him at the end of the encounter that 'we had been very superior, that we played a great team and that he didn't understand how we could be at the bottom,' he explained.

On the other hand, the UD Almería right-back underlined: 'I enjoy playing despite that the results aren't that positive. You always try to come out with the confidence that you can do it, that you can do this,' and added that it was hard not being able to hit the target again and again. Personally, his season is being brilliant, but he had to play with a knee injury that made him undergo surgery. Fortunately, that was overcome.

The Rojiblanco player acknowledged: 'I like to help in attack by joining team-mates up front, but always with control so as not to leave a spaces behind.' Last Sunday, he was well supported by Baptistão, as he valued him: 'He helped me a lot so as not to be in a two against one because Baena and Pedraza linked up; I really appreciate his work.'
