Marc Pubill named in U21 Spain squad shortlist

Although the Rojiblanco could play against CD Tenerife, Santi Denia has shortlisted him for the European Championship, which will be held in Slovakia in June, but Pubill will leave early next week, once the regular season has concluded

UD Almería full-back Marc Pubill has been called up by Santi Denia for preparations for the U21 European Championship, which takes place in Slovakia 11-28 June. The 21-year-old has been named on the squad shortlist that, starting this Saturday, will have to start a training camp prior to the Euro tournament. However, the Club and the RFEF have agreed that the player can delay his participation and therefore be able to play in UD Almería's crucial match this Sunday against CD Tenerife.

The current team roster consists of 27 names and is not completed yet, as once the match against Ukraine is played, the national team coach will release 4 players and announce the final squad.

The U21 Spanish national squad will be travelling to Bratislava on 8 June, where they will get together for the entire first leg. The Spanish U21 team will face the host nation (11 June at 6pm), Romania (14 June at 6pm), and Italy (17 June at 9pm) in the group stage.

The top-two teams will advance directly to the quarter-finals. It is worth highlighting that La Rojita have won the tournament 5 times and Santi Denia's side is currently hoping to secure their 6th European title.
