Makaridze called up to Georgia squad and Jorge Cuenca gets Spain Under-21s call-up
The goalie and the centre-back will temporarily be away on duty after Sunday's home game against Sporting de Gijón
Giorgi Makaridze, the UD Almería goalkeeper signed this 20220/21 season, has been called up to the Georgia squad, his national team. The goalkeeper will play three international matches starting next week. In point of fact, the Tiflis-born goalie will leave after the home match that the Rojiblancos are playing this Sunday against Sporting de Gijón and will make his way back to Almeria on 15th October.
If everything goes according to plan, Makaridze will unavoidably miss the next SmartBank league fixture in Logroño (La Rioja), although he will be back in action for the game in Las Palmas (Canary Islands) a week later.
On the other hand, Jorge Cuenca has been called up to the Spain Under-21s squad in order to play two international matches on 8th and 13th October, so the 20-year-old footballer will not be available for the meeting that will take place at Las Gaunas stadium either.
The winger Aitor Buñuel and the midfielder Manu Morlanes were on the provisional list of the Under-21s national coach, Luis de la Fuente, yet none of them have been named in the squad in the end.
