Luis Suárez rejoins team-mates in training following long-term injury

The Colombian UD Almería striker has now fully recovered from his injury and has joined the session with the group this Thursday, although he has been on the treatment table for more than three months

Luis Suárez has rejoined collective training this week. In fact, his availability was announced last Friday by head coach Pepe Mel and on Tuesday, the striker began to exercise with the rest of the team. The Colombian has been training for three days at the same pace as the other footballers, and although he has fully recovered from his injury, he has been on the treatment table for many months.

If head coach Pepe Mel continues on this upward trend he could count on him for some of the remaining fixtures at the end of the season. Luis Suárez was injured on Matchday 8 on the past 1st October while playing against Granada CF at the Power Horse Stadium. He had grabbed a superb hat-trick and when the match was in its dying embers, he fractured his left fibula. He then opted for conservative treatment and although in January he played some minutes against Girona CF first, and Real Madrid CF later.

The 26-year-old did not complete his recovery process properly and on 31st January, he was operated on by the doctors Pedro Luis Ripoll and Mariano de Prado. Now everything seems to be coming to an end and soon could be available after shaking off his long-term injury.

Meanwhile, UD Almería continue with their set-up for Sunday's game against Rayo Vallecano. Mr Mel will surely not be able to count on injured Radovanović, nor on suspended players RamazaniJonathan Viera and Robertone. On the contrary, Gonzalo Melero is available for selection again after serving his four-game suspension.
