García Pimienta: 'CD Leganés' recent results make them even more dangerous.'

The UD Almería head to expects a 'tough, hard-fought encounter' and one that will be just as 'long and difficult' as the previous match. He is counting on the fans to help the team get the job done

UD Almería are preparing for their second consecutive home fixture at the UD Almería Stadium and head coach Xavier García Pimienta is expecting  highly motivated opponents and a challenging game.

'CD Leganés have had a few disappointing results, particularly their most recent game against Cádiz CF. They're a great team with players who have plenty of experience at this level,' the UD Almería head coach explained. He issued a clear warning: 'When an opponent comes into a game like this, they become even more dangerous.'

García Pimienta described CD Leganés as a 'difficult, physical side' and outlined the kind of contest he expects: 'It'll be similar to the previous game. Hopefully, we won't give too much away and we'll be more clinical in front of goal than we were last week. It'll be a demanding game, but if we're at 110%, we'll have a chance of winning.'

UD Almería are in excellent form, having won 5 consecutive matches. Nevertheless, the gaffer remains focused on the immediate challenge rather than looking too far ahead: 'I've said it before and I'll say it again: we won't know what we're aiming for until there are 4 or 5 games left. Right now, I'm only thinking about Sunday's fixture.'

The pre-match press conference also touched on Álex Sola. 'The Club dealt with the matter directly, applying its internal disciplinary procedures, so there's little more I can say. The team are in a good place and none of this can distract us from what matters: the game against CD Leganés.'

Regarding Sola's return to group training, the Barcelona-born added: 'Sola will train with the group next week, as he's been training individually so far. He'll be another member of the squad and if I feel he's the right option and that he can benefit the team, he'll play. If not, another team-mate will take his place.'
