The UD Almería first-team squad undergo routine medical assessments with Vithas Almería and the Club’s medical staff before taking to the training pitch
UD Almería's 2026 pre-season officially got under way on Monday with the routine medicals that all professional players complete before returning to on-pitch training. The assessments, carried out by Vithas Almería in collaboration with the Club’s medical department, began on Monday and will continue on Tuesday.
The medical checks have been taking place since early morning at both Vithas Almería, the Club’s official healthcare partner and the UDA Stadium. The players have undergone a series of examinations, including blood tests and comprehensive cardiac assessments at the hospital’s Cardiology Unit. These have included specialist consultations, electrocardiograms, echocardiograms and exercise stress tests, under the supervision of Dr Rafael Sola Casado, a specialist in cardiology.
Monte, Guedes, Bonini and Jon Morcillo were the first players to complete the medical assessments, with the rest of the squad arriving throughout the morning. New signings, including Jorge Pulido and Álex Sola, also attended the first round of examinations.
While some players were at Vithas Almería, others remained at the UDA Stadium with the Club’s medical department, led by Dr Sebastián Jiménez, to complete the remaining health checks and ensure the entire squad is ready to begin on-pitch training on Wednesday.
Throughout the 2026/27 season, Vithas Almería will continue to provide comprehensive medical support to the first team, giving the Club access to a full range of specialist healthcare services, including diagnosis, injury treatment and rehabilitation, as well as medical imaging, radiology and surgical procedures whenever required.
