Internationals getting back into the fold and Luis Suárez does individual ball work
Mendes and Marciano are back in the building after international duty with the Guinea Bissau squad. One more UD Almería 'B' youngster (Kevin) features in first team training
UD Almería have reached the midpoint of their preparation period ahead of Saturday's fixture against Getafe CF. The presence of Luis Suárez on the Power Horse Stadium lawn has definitely been one of the highlights of this Wednesday's session, although he is doing individual ball work.
Also, Mendes and Marciano have been working out in the gym looking to recover after a long trip as they have joined up with the Guinea Bissau team. They rejoin collective training this Thursday. More international players are due to arrive.
Luis Suárez continues to make progress from the serious injury he sustained in the past match against Andalusian rivals Granada CF and the fact of having started individual training on the pitch is really significant. However, the Colombian still has a long way to go until he can be available for selection.
This Wednesday, a new UD Almería 'B' youngster has featured in the senior team training session. Kevin has joined his peers who followed first team's instructions last Tuesday with the likes of Peñalver, Paco Sanz and Ballestero; midfielders Marcos Peña, Avelino and Marsu, and striker Loren.
UD Almería have completed the third football practice of the week, and thus reaching the halfway point of their preparation for the next league meeting at the Coliseum stadium. Head coach Gaizka Garitano has insisted on the different tactics that his squad will display against Getafe CF, and on that subject, he has worked on the game plan to try to spring a surprise against opponents who are unbeaten at home this campaign.
The Rojiblancos have a couple of more sessions ahead on Thursday and Friday, the latter before flying charter to Madrid early in the afternoon.
