Lorena Herrera de Miguel will reinforce UD Almería Women's midfield after becoming the second signing for the start of the 2022/23 season. The skilful footballer moves on a free transfer from Málaga CF Women after gaining pole position last season in the Primera Nacional women's league. 

The 22-year-old player can operate both as a midfielder and inside right. Most of her footballing career has been carved out at her home-team Málaga CF In the first place, she wore the Malaga Academy jersey from 2016 to 2020. Then, the player spent one year playing for Marbella FC Women. Last season, she returned to the La Rosaleda squad, but this time around she moved up a rank and played for club women’s senior team, experiencing a great campaign that was rounded off with promotion to the newly created women's tier Segunda División RFEF Femenina.

Lorena Herrera now arrives at UD Almería Women as a powerful reinforcement that will bring a wealth of experience to one of the key areas of the pitch when it comes to building match approaches. This is the second recruit ahead of the 2022/23 season after the re-signing of Nadia López

Following the closure of the 2021/22 season, the Rojiblancas’ team can confirm their retained/released list: Laura, Marisa, Adriana Díaz, Lucía López, Mati, Mireya and Anita París are included in the retained list as they all have already renewed their deals, while Flores, Marta Paz, Sarita, Ana Carrascosa, Ani and Esther will exit the Power Horse Stadium ‘Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium’. Their commitment has been greatly appreciated.
