Lopy and Pedro Fidel return to squad

Marcos Luna suspended and Bonini banned after UD Las Palmas' red card as head coach Rubi names 24-man squad for Gijón trip

Dion Lopy and Pedro Fidel are the standout inclusions in UD Almería’s squad for Sunday’s clash against Sporting Gijón at El Molinón-Enrique Castro 'Quini' stadium (KO 6:30pm CET), on Matchday 41, the penultimate fixture of the regular campaign.

The Senegalese midfielder returns after serving a suspension, while UD Almería Academy centre-back Pedro Fidel has been drafted into the squad due to defensive absences.

Head coach Rubi will be without right-back Marcos Luna and centre-half Federico Bonini for disciplinary reasons. Luna picked up his fifth yellow card of the season, while the Italian defender was sent off in the recent match against UD Las Palmas.

The squad completed a final behind-closed-doors training session at the UD Almería Stadium on Saturday morning before travelling to Asturias later in the day on a charter flight.

Rubi has named a 24-man travelling squad, meaning one player will be left out before kick-off.

Squad list:

Goalkeepers: Andrés Fernández, Fernando, Bruno Iribarne.

Defenders: Alex Muñoz, Nelson Monte, Rodrigo Ely, Centelles, Chumi, Chirino, Pedro Fidel.

Midfielders: Arnau, André Horta, Jon Morcillo, Gui Guedes, Nico Melamed, Sergio Arribas, Baptistão, Baba, Dion Lopy, Embarba, Dzodic.

Forwards: Thalys, Soko, Miguel de la Fuente.
