Lopy sidelined with muscle injury

The UD Almería midfielder has been diagnosed with a grade II tear in his right rectus femoris and is currently undergoing rehabilitation

UD Almería have confirmed the nature of the injury sustained by Dion Lopy after the squad’s return to training from the Christmas break, an issue that has ruled him out of recent action.

The Senegalese midfielder has been diagnosed with a grade II myoaponeurotic tear in his right rectus femoris muscle, an injury that caused him to miss the first match of 2026 and will keep him sidelined in the coming weeks.

The 23-year-old is currently continuing his recovery programme with physiotherapy and rehabilitation work in the gym. Should his progress remain positive, Lopy is expected to move on to the next phase of his recovery next week, which will include tests on the pitch.
