Rubi: 'We'll arrive at a good time for the Real Oviedo game'
The UD Almería head coach states: 'We have to go and win on a pitch where very few teams are going to win throughout the entire season.' The gaffer praised Sunday's opponents, but he also has full confidence in his side. He showed his support for Burgos CF player Appin, who was seriously injured
'We'll arrive in Oviedo at a good time emotionally, physically and also because of the adjustments we have made to the team,' said UD Almería head coach Rubi in the pre-match press conference. Marc Pubill, who is recovering from a sprain to the inner lateral ligament in his left knee, has been ruled out as well as team-mates Lucas Robertone, who underwent surgery a week ago for a shoulder dislocation; Bruno Langa, who is on international duty with the Mozambique squad; and Sergio Arribas, given a one-match ban for his sending-off against Burgos CF.
Rubi is convinced that 'with the level of confidence that we've acquired, we have the opportunity to see a UD Almería squad that can win in Oviedo, something that wasn't seen against Levante UD,' and he stressed in this regard: 'We have to go and win on a pitch where very few teams are going to do so throughout the entire season.'
The Catalan head coach, despite that confidence, also recognised the obvious strengths of the next adversaries from Asturias: 'They're very well coached, they're very strong on home turf and solid in defence. It's going to be a clash between two powerful teams.' The gaffer truly hopes to overcome that difficulty at Real Oviedo's home by 'trying to keep up the good work as we did in the last game and the attacking level of the four most recent fixtures in which we've scored two goals per game.'
Rubi made it clear that UD Almería have 'a significant delay in points,' but he is confident of keeping on the right track taken to change course and climb up positions in the standings. 'Our goal is to advance and there are two ways to do so, but talking about this now is wasting time.'
Finally, the Vilassar de Mar native expressed his strong support for Burgos CF player Appin, who was seriously injured in Almería, and also for all those people who suffer from a mental disorder taking advantage of the fact that last Thursday, 11th October, was Mental Health Day.
