Léo Baptistão extends UD Almería stay

The Brazilian forward signs a 1-year contract extension and will enter his 5th consecutive season in red and white

Léo Baptistão will continue wearing the UD Almería red and white jersey after reaching an agreement with the Club to extend his contract for one more season. The Brazilian forward, whose previous deal expired on 30 June, will now embark on his 5th consecutive campaign with the Rojiblancos.

His renewal also makes him the Club's 5th addition ahead of the 2026/27 season, following the arrivals of Brian Cipenga, Jorge Pulido, Miguel de la Fuente and Quim Junyent. One of the team's captains, Baptistão brings experience, commitment, professionalism, versatility and proven attacking quality to the squad.

The Brazilian will turn 34 in August, but he continues to demonstrate outstanding physical condition. Last season he made 40 appearances in all competitions, starting 27 matches, and scored 10 goals, several of them proving decisive for the team.

Baptistão joined UD Almería ahead of the 2022/23 campaign following the Club's promotion to LaLiga. His arrival marked a return to Spanish football after spells in China and Brazil, having previously represented Rayo Vallecano, Atlético de Madrid, Real Betis, Villarreal and Espanyol in Spain.

Across his footballing career, Baptistão has made 452 senior appearances, with 143 of them coming for UD Almería, the Club he has represented more than any other. That tally is set to keep growing.
