The UD Almería second striker underwent surgery on his left ankle and Achilles tendon at the Ripoll y De Prado Sport Clinic in Murcia

UD Almería second striker Léo Baptistão underwent surgery this Wednesday morning by orthopaedic surgeons Pedro Luis Ripoll and Niek Van Dijk on his left ankle and Achilles tendon. 
 
The operation performed by the Ripoll and De Prado Sport Clinic - FIFA medical excellence accreditation - medical team took place at the Hospital Quirón located in Murcia. The Santos native footballer has undergone surgery for a Haglund's syndrome injury in his left ankle, as well as a partial tear of the Achilles tendon. 
 
The surgery has lasted approximately 45 minutes and the result has been optimal, according to surgeon Ripoll. The 30-year-old Brazilian will spend 24 hours in a recovery room and then continue with his rehabilitation process in Almería city. He will not be available until the next 2023/24 season.
